Company Profile
The purpose of the Stop Smoking Service is to provide high quality clinical smoking cessation service to the local population of Barnsley through a variety of services in a variety of settings. Smoking is one of the most significant factors to ill health and reducing smoking among the people in Barnsley is a key Public Health issue.
The aims of the service are to provide a free confidential support programme delivered by suitably trained advisors over 12 weeks. The programme offered is monitored by the Department of Health and supported by a vast amount of research and evidence. Advice is given on suitable medications and advisors give tips on how to deal with cravings and break the habit.
Smoking Cessation is provided by the main service on Eldon Street, Barnsley Hospital, also at a range of GP practices and Pharmacies as well as community venues.
