The former workshops of the famous Fitzwilliam family are the perfect place to discover everything the Industrial Revolution meant for those who experienced it. Marvel at our Newcomen type Beam Engine, take a ride on a stream train, walk along the canal, get involved in fun family events, enjoy a concert or just wander and discover the shops and galleries.
Restored historic buildings now house a fascinating variety of shops, galleries and craft workshops. Stroll around the cobbled streets, under the gas lamps and past impressive iron columns. Marvel at the skill of today’s craftsmen and women, continuing the traditions of one of the world’s most important historical sites.
