Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients with a life limiting illness, whilst supporting their families, during the period of illness and bereavement. The range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and terminal care at the end of life.
The Inpatient Unit has ten single rooms, all with en-suite facilities; six of which have walk-in showers and four with overhead hoists. Patients are usually referred by a health care practitioner.
The Limes Day Hospice. Up to 16 daily places available to patients between Monday and Thursday. Friday is our ‘drop-in day’, where booking is not required.
A range of complementary therapies are provided for all patients.
Bereavement support is offered to relatives and carers, including children.
A counselling service is provided to anyone living in Barnsley with a life limiting illness.
A lymphoedema service is provided to anyone in Barnsley, requiring this treatment.
